Another fantastic week at Kau Tapen Lodge, with a group of international anglers from Scandinavia and North America joining us for some exceptional fishing on both the Rio Grande and Menendez rivers.
The water levels remained low and clear, which made for delicate fishing conditions. Floating and intermediate lines, long leaders, and small flies were key to success. The weather kept us on our toes, with changing wind directions and temperatures that led to some slower sessions, but once conditions settled, the fishing picked up again.
Conditions favorable to fish movement upriver continued, which kept us alert and actively hunting every pocket in search of those resting fish before they continued their journey. At the same time, our main holding spots remained productive, delivering fish almost every time we fished them.
All anglers connected with fish, and the Menendez River once again provided some unforgettable moments. Fish sizes ranged from 6 lbs to 18.5 lbs, with most of the fish being fresh, and a few darker ones mixed in.
Looking forward to another great week ahead!
