Kau Tapen Lodge – Week 10: March 8th to 15th, 2025

We’ve just wrapped up our 10th week of fishing on both the Río Grande and Menendez rivers, hosting a fantastic group of international anglers from the United Kingdom and the US.

Since the rise two weeks ago, sporadic rainfall has kept the waters of both rivers fresh and active, maintaining good fishing conditions throughout the week. With the color and speed of the water, we turned to bigger flies and sink tips to slow down our presentation and target fish where they were holding. The cooler water temperatures also influenced our tackle choices, requiring more precise techniques.

As fish started moving away from their holding spots, we had great success in the running spots, faster waters, and pools that had been less productive with lower water levels. The week produced some amazing fish, with two 20-pounders landed, along with several fish ranging from 15 to 19 pounds.
Another exciting week on the water, with plenty of unforgettable catches to go around!

Tight lines,
Nahuel Stauch – Fishing Manager
